Apple ‘Awe Dropping’ Event — What to Expect
Apple’s fall event is set for September 9 at 1:00 PM ET, livestreamed from Cupertino. Themed “Awe Dropping,” the keynote is expected to focus on the iPhone 17 lineup and a slate of hardware updates.
Highlights (rumored)
- iPhone 17 lineup — Expect iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Rumors point to display and performance upgrades and shipping with iOS 26.
- iPhone Air — A new, ultra-thin model rumored at ~5.55 mm thickness (thinner than any iPhone since 2014). Likely compromises include a single 48MP camera and a smaller battery.
- iPhone 17 Pro / Pro Max — Possible switch from titanium to aluminum, a rear camera “island” spanning much of the back, improved telephoto (rumored 48MP zoom lens), and anti-glare coating.
- Standard iPhone 17 — May gain a 120Hz ProMotion variable refresh-rate display.
- Apple Watch — Apple Watch Ultra 3 could get 5G, a new chip, and satellite texting; Series 11 may get a faster processor and possibly 5G as well.
- AirPods Pro 3 — Possible upgrades including in-ear biometric sensors (heart-rate, maybe temperature) and live translation features.
