Google Photos adds Veo 3 — new AI video & photo tools
Google has integrated its Veo 3 image-to-video model into Google Photos, bringing a suite of AI-driven creative tools that let users turn still images into higher-quality clips and remix photos in a variety of styles.
Key features
- Improved Photo-to-Video: Higher-quality clips from stills with better interpolation, noise reduction and color handling.
- Remix: Transform photos into styles like anime, comic-book art, 3D animation and more.
- Collage: Quickly combine multiple photos into selected layouts, with a built-in image editor.
- Highlight: Automatic montages created from search prompts, complete with music.
- Cinematic Photos: 3D renderings and parallax-style effects from single photos.
Availability & limits
The Veo 3 features are rolling out to Google Photos users in the US via the new Create tab. Users have a limited number of image generations per day; Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers receive additional generations.
Developer & platform notes
Google has been deploying Veo 3 across other services as well (including Vids/YouTube integrations) and provides developer access via the Gemini API for image-to-video capabilities.
