Hidden camera & audio settings in iOS Control Center

The iOS Control Center is more than quick toggles — it can show app-specific camera and microphone options that only appear when the related app is active. These contextual controls are accessed via touch-and-hold (long press) and can expose settings you might otherwise search for in the main Settings app.

What you can find

  • Camera modes and quick camera options (selfie/rear, video/photo modes)
  • Microphone modes such as Voice Isolation when a recording or call is active
  • App-specific shortcuts that only appear while that app is using camera/mic hardware

How to access

  1. Open the app that uses the camera or microphone (e.g., Camera, FaceTime, Voice Memos, a video app).
  2. Swipe to open Control Center.
  3. Touch and hold (long-press) the relevant control (Camera, Microphone, etc.).
  4. Select the option that appears in the contextual menu.
