iOS 26 is here — Is your iPhone eligible?
Apple has released iOS 26 (public rollout began Sep 15). The update brings a major visual refresh called “Liquid Glass,” new features like Live Translate, polls in Messages, redesigned Phone and Camera apps, more lock screen customizations, and other refinements.
Highlights
- Liquid Glass design: revamped icons, floating buttons, unified visuals across Apple OSes.
- Live Translate: real‑time translation for calls and messages.
- Phone app redesign: combined contacts/recent/voicemail view and “Hold Assist.”
- Polls in group Messages.
- New lock screen options: widgets, effects, focus improvements.
- Customizable alarm snooze (1–15 minutes) and a simpler Camera app.
- Screenshot tools: Google image search and ChatGPT integration from the editor.

Should you upgrade?
If your device is eligible, upgrading gives you the new features and security updates. If it isn’t, Apple released iOS 18.7 to provide continued security fixes for unsupported devices — but you’ll miss future features and eventually app compatibility may decline.
