Meta launches Horizon TV — a new entertainment hub for Quest headsets

At Meta Connect 2025, Meta revealed Horizon TV, a new entertainment hub for its Quest VR headsets. The hub aggregates major streaming services and delivers enhanced immersive experiences with Dolby Atmos now and Dolby Vision coming later this year.

Key features

  • Partners: Disney+ (including Marvel Cinematic Universe content), Prime Video, Hulu, ESPN, Spotify, Peacock, Twitch, Universal Pictures and Blumhouse.
  • Exclusive content: A limited-time 3D clip of Avatar (“Fire and Ash”) via Meta’s partnership with James Cameron’s Lightstorm Vision.
  • Immersive tech: Dolby Atmos support for spatial audio; Dolby Vision arriving later for richer colors and sharper detail.
  • Special effects: Meta says some horror titles (e.g., M3GAN, The Black Phone) will include immersive effects unique to Quest.

What this means

Meta is positioning Horizon TV as a major entertainment destination for VR, bringing familiar streaming apps into shared or solo virtual spaces and pushing 3D and immersive audio/visual formats. The multi-year partnership with Lightstorm Vision aims to expand stereoscopic 3D content on Quest devices.
