Microsoft Gaming Copilot arrives on Windows PC Game Bar and Xbox mobile app

Microsoft has begun rolling out its Gaming Copilot AI assistant to the Windows PC Game Bar and will launch the Xbox mobile app version for Android and iOS in October. The service is available to players aged 18+ and will be offered globally except in mainland China.

What Gaming Copilot does

  • Provides AI-driven in-game help and tips via an on-screen chat overlay (it can use in-game screenshots to understand context).
  • Offers voice chat and a Push-to-Talk hotkey on PC, plus a microphone button in the mobile app.
  • Answers account-related questions and recommends purchases and content based on your Xbox activity.
  • Includes a movable widget on PC for longer conversations and easy access.

Availability & devices

  • PC Game Bar: rolling out now to eligible users (18+).
  • Xbox mobile (Android/iOS): launching in October after beta tests earlier in the year.
  • Excluded region: mainland China.
  • Microsoft plans continued optimization for consoles and handhelds, including the upcoming Xbox Ally handheld (launching Oct 16, 2025).
