PingPlace: Place macOS notification banners where you want
PingPlace is a free, open-source macOS utility that lets you choose where notification banners appear on your screen. Where macOS normally pins banners to the top-right, PingPlace offers eight positions: top-left, top-center, top-right, middle-left, middle-right, bottom-left, bottom-center and bottom-right.
Key features
- Eight configurable banner positions across the screen
- Free and open-source (source code on GitHub)
- Installable via Homebrew or direct download from GitHub releases
Requirements & permissions
PingPlace requires a modern macOS (reports indicate support for macOS 14 and later) and needs Accessibility permissions to move notification banners. Because it is not distributed through the Mac App Store, you may need to bypass Gatekeeper the first time you run it.

Notes
This app addresses a long-standing macOS limitation by giving users control over notification placement. Because the app isn’t Apple‑signed, follow Gatekeeper warnings carefully and only download from the official GitHub releases page.
