Keep Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at $20/month (for now)
Microsoft recently raised the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to $30/month. However, many online retailers — including Amazon — are still selling prepaid 3‑month codes at the previous rate (~$60), letting you effectively keep the $20/month price by buying and stacking codes.
What Ultimate includes
- Access to a library of 200+ games on PC and Xbox.
- Xbox Cloud Gaming to stream many titles to phones, TVs and other devices.
- New benefits added with the price increase: Ubisoft+ access included (a ~$16/mo value) and, starting in November 2025, Fortnite Crew (normally ~$12/mo).
How the prepaid workaround works
- Buy a 3‑month prepaid code for about $60 = $20/month equivalent.
- You can stack multiple codes (e.g., four 3‑month codes ≈ $240 for a year) to remain on the older rate until codes run out.
- Codes are available from Amazon: Search Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 3-month codes on Amazon.
Should you do it?
Monetarily, the new Ultimate includes more value, but if you prefer to avoid the higher recurring fee for now, buying prepaid codes is a practical short-term solution. Verify seller reputation and terms before purchase.
