Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE launch the limited‑edition “iPhone Pocket” — a knitted sleeve for iPhone
Apple has partnered with Japanese fashion house ISSEY MIYAKE to release the iPhone Pocket, a limited‑edition 3D‑knitted textile sleeve featuring a ribbed open structure inspired by Miyake’s pleated fabrics. The accessory is designed to be flexible — it fits iPhones and other small everyday items and can be worn with a short or long strap.
The short‑strap iPhone Pocket comes in lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon and black. The long‑strap version is available in sapphire, cinnamon and black. Apple says the colors were selected to mix and match with iPhone finishes for a coordinated look.
Key details
- Design: Seamless 3D knit with ribbed open structure, made in Japan and influenced by ISSEY MIYAKE’s signature textiles.
- Strap options & colors: Short strap in multiple colors; long strap in select colors (see above).
- Price: Short strap — $150; Long strap — $230.
- Availability: On sale Friday, November 14 in select markets: US, France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and the UK. In the US, limited in‑store availability at Apple SoHo (NYC).
Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE frame the iPhone Pocket as an expression of wearing your iPhone “in your own way.” The accessory can be used on the arm, attached to a bag, or worn across the body — and in high‑theft locations it may also serve as a practical way to keep your phone close and secure.
Who might want one?
This is a fashion‑forward accessory aimed at buyers who value design, materials and exclusivity. If you like statement accessories or curated collaborations, the iPhone Pocket offers a tactile, softer alternative to rigid cases. However, buyers prioritizing protection from drops may prefer traditional cases that offer structured impact absorption.
Worth the price?
At $150–$230, the iPhone Pocket sits in the premium accessory bracket. The value will depend on how much you care about craftsmanship, brand collaborations and limited availability. For collectors and fans of ISSEY MIYAKE, it may be a worthwhile purchase; for others it could feel like an expensive, style‑led novelty.

Discussion: Is the iPhone Pocket a chic, wearable accessory or an overpriced gimmick? Would you buy one to wear your phone, or stick with traditional cases?
