iOS 26.2 beta arrives with Live Translation for EU and several app tweaks
Less than 24 hours after iOS 26.1 rolled out, Apple has begun beta testing iOS 26.2. The update is slated to arrive publicly next month and includes a number of feature additions and refinements — most notably the rollout of Live Translation for AirPods users across the European Union.
Live Translation on AirPods will let supported devices translate conversations in real time between multiple languages. Apple previously said additional engineering was needed to meet regional privacy and regulatory requirements, and the iOS 26.2 beta appears to implement those changes ahead of the EU launch.
Other changes in the beta
- Reminders app updates: Apple is making refinements to the Reminders app to improve scheduling and organization (settings and specifics will be clearer as testers explore the beta).
- Design options: The beta includes new visual and customization tweaks across the system — expect small UI refinements and additional personalization settings.
- Beta availability: Developers can test iOS 26.2 now via the developer beta; a public beta should follow in the coming weeks for broader testing.
Requirements: Live Translation will require supported AirPods (AirPods Pro 2 & 3, AirPods 4 with ANC) and an Apple Intelligence–capable iPhone running the compatible iOS build. If you rely on your daily device, consider waiting for the public beta or stable release rather than installing a developer beta.
Why this matters
The iOS 26.2 beta signals Apple is moving ahead with Live Translation across the EU while also iterating on core apps and system design. For users who want to test new features early, the beta provides a preview — but broader rollouts and documentation will come with the public beta and final release.

Discussion: Will you try iOS 26.2 in beta to get Live Translation early — or would you wait for the public release? What feature are you most curious to test?
