Nintendo Store app arrives on iOS & Android
Nintendo has launched its Nintendo Store app on both iOS and Android. The app is a reimagining of the My Nintendo app that first appeared in Japan, and it lets users browse consoles, physical and digital games, accessories and official merchandise from their phones or tablets.
Purchases are completed through an in-app browser that takes you to the product page. The app also aims to keep players informed with news, event updates and wishlist notifications when items go on sale.
Key features
- Browse & shop: View consoles, games, accessories and merch directly in the app (checkout uses an in-app browser).
- Wishlist alerts: Get notifications when items on your wishlist drop in price.
- Store & event check-ins: Check in at physical Nintendo stores or events to receive rewards.
- Playtime history: View your playtime across several Nintendo consoles, including older systems like the 3DS and Wii U — you ll need to link a Nintendo Network ID to your Nintendo Account to access 3DS and Wii U data. Note: play activity on those systems after February 2020 is not included.
What to know
The app centralizes shopping and news for Nintendo fans and adds a few handy features for discovery and rewards. Because purchases open in an in-app browser, the buying flow may feel more like the mobile web than a native checkout experience. If you want to see legacy playtime (3DS/Wii U), remember to link your Nintendo Network ID to your Nintendo Account.
Who benefits
Mobile shoppers who want a dedicated Nintendo experience on their phone or tablet, collectors hunting for merch and players who want a quick way to check wishlist sales will find the app useful. It s also handy for those who attend in-person Nintendo events and want to claim rewards via check-in.
Download the Nintendo Store app from your device s app store and check whether it s available in your region. For more on Nintendo s mobile offerings, visit Nintendo s official site.
Discussion: Will you use the Nintendo Store app to shop and track your playtime — or do you prefer the web store? What feature would make the app indispensable for you?
