Discovery Tour: Medieval Baghdad — Free from Ubisoft
Ubisoft has released Discovery Tour: Medieval Baghdad, a free app that adapts Assassin’s Creed Mirage into a ~2-hour narrative educational experience. Designed around the game’s reworked Baghdad map, the app includes:
- Two-hour guided narrative set in 9th-century Baghdad
- Encyclopedic entries on the history, art, and culture of medieval Baghdad and the Abbasid Caliphate
- Augmented Reality (AR) feature to view 3D models of famous artifacts
- Interactive mini-games and educational interactions drawn from the game’s research
The app is offered free by Ubisoft. Official information and downloads are available via Ubisoft’s Discovery Tour pages: Ubisoft Discovery Tour.
You can also search for the app on mobile stores by name: “Discovery Tour: Medieval Baghdad” (App Store / Google Play).
If you want to buy Assassin’s Creed Mirage, it is available on Amazon: Assassin’s Creed Mirage — Amazon search (affiliate tag included).
Context: The Discovery Tour feature debuted in Assassin’s Creed Origins (2017) and has since appeared as standalone educational experiences. Unlike some earlier tours, this app focuses on a compact, narrative-driven exploration rather than an open, free-roam museum experience. The release is notable because Ubisoft usually charges for standalone Discovery Tour apps, but this one is free.
Notes: Ubisoft has recently reorganized its franchises into a new subsidiary and continues to explore live-service directions for the series; this educational app is a different use of the franchise’s historical research.
