Apple seeds Release Candidates for its major OS updates — Public launch set for Sept 15, 2025
Apple has released Release Candidate (RC) builds of iOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26 and visionOS 26 to developers. RCs are the final pre-release versions and are typically unchanged when pushed to the public, unless significant last‑minute bugs are found.
When to expect the public update
Apple and multiple reports indicate the public release is scheduled for September 15, 2025. Developers and public beta testers can download the RC builds via the Software Update section in Settings (or the Apple Developer site) if enrolled.
Key highlights reported so far
- Shared “Liquid Glass” design language across platforms
- AI‑powered Workout Buddy on watchOS 26
- Karaoke features on tvOS 26
- Spatial widgets and expanded AR/VR capabilities on visionOS 26
