YangWang U9 Xtreme Hits 496.22 km/h (308.33 mph)
During a livestream at the Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) facility in Germany, the YangWang U9 Xtreme recorded a top speed of 496.22 km/h (308.33 mph), surpassing the one-way top speed of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ (304.77 mph) from 2019.

One-way vs two-way records
Official production car speed records typically use the average of two runs in opposite directions to negate environmental and track variables. The U9 Xtreme’s 308.33 mph pass was recorded one-way; however, Bugatti’s famous 2019 run was likewise a one-way run when first reported, so this livestreamed achievement still represents a milestone for EV performance.
Why it matters
The U9 Xtreme demonstrates how electric powertrains can push hypercar performance limits. The 1,200V architecture allows faster energy delivery and reduced weight from simpler cooling and wiring. With just 30 units planned, expect extremely limited availability and a very high price.
