How to cancel Disney+ (price increase & pause options)
Disney+ has announced another price increase. If the higher cost (or other reasons) means you want to stop your subscription, here’s a clear guide to canceling, pausing, and what happens next.
Cancel directly (web or mobile)
- Log in to your Disney+ account.
- Select your Profile → Account → Subscription → Disney+ subscription → Cancel Subscription.
Cancel via third-party billing (Apple, Google, Amazon, carriers)
If you’re billed by Apple, Google, Amazon, or your wireless/TV provider, cancel with that provider — they handle payments.
Apple (iPhone/iPad)
- Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select Disney+ → Cancel.
Google (Play Store)
- Open Google Play (web), ensure you’re signed in → Account icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → select Disney+ → Manage → Cancel.
Amazon
- Go to Amazon Memberships & Subscriptions → sign in → find Disney+ → Cancel Subscription.
Bundles
Canceling Disney+ may only remove the Disney+ portion of a bundle (Hulu/ESPN+). To end the whole bundle you may need to cancel each service separately through the original provider.
Pause option
Disney+ offers a pause option for some direct-billing plans (not for certain bundles). If available: Profile → Account → Subscription → Pause Subscription → choose duration → Pause. If a third party bills you, contact them to pause.
After cancellation
- You keep access until the end of your current billing period (no refunds for partial months).
- You can restart the subscription before the billing period ends via Account → Restart Subscription.
- Canceling does not delete your account data — you must request account deletion separately if desired.
