Amazon Luna launches GameNight — controller-free party games for Prime

Amazon has updated its Luna cloud gaming service with GameNight, a collection of over 25 social, smartphone-controlled party games aimed at making multiplayer gaming easier for Prime subscribers. GameNight features reinterpretations of classics (inspired by Angry Birds, Exploding Kittens, Ticket to Ride) and original titles developed by Amazon — including Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg.

How it works: you load the game on Luna, scan an on-screen QR code with your phone, and use your device as the controller — a setup similar to Jackbox Party Packs. The goal is to lower the barrier to entry for players who are intimidated by traditional controllers.

Alongside GameNight, Amazon says it will add high-profile, controller-required titles to Luna for those who prefer traditional gameplay. Upcoming premium games announced include Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Dave the Diver. These full-console-style titles will require a Luna Controller or a Bluetooth controller connected to the Luna app.

Question for readers: Which GameNight-style party game would you try first, and would controller-free play make you try Luna?
