Signify Hue Bridge Pro — what changes and Apple Home integration
Signify has released the Hue Bridge Pro, a more powerful smart-home hub for the Philips Hue ecosystem. It brings increased processing power, MotionAware™ features (using lights as motion sensors), enhanced Zigbee encryption, and support for larger setups (150+ lights and 50+ accessories).
Key points
- Supports 150+ lights and 50+ accessories.
- MotionAware™ and other advanced, AI-driven features that run on the hub.
- Stronger Zigbee encryption and tighter security integrations.
- Works with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings; Apple Home setup is handled via the Philips Hue app.
Apple Home integration
The Bridge Pro integrates with Apple Home through the Philips Hue app (Settings → Smart home & voice → Siri & Apple Home → Set up). After signing in and selecting a Home, lights and accessories appear in Apple Home and can be used in Siri and Home automations. While some Matter-capable bulbs can be added directly to Apple Home without a bridge, the Bridge Pro unlocks the full Hue feature set (MotionAware™, security features, and certain automations).

Verdict
If you’ve expanded your Hue setup with cameras, sensors and many accessories, the Hue Bridge Pro provides the processing power and security for advanced features. For smaller setups or Matter-native devices, the full bridge might not be necessary.
