Evernote v11: All-in on AI

Evernote v11: All-in on AI

Evernote has launched v11 after 200+ improvements from new owner Bending Spoons. The update brings several AI-powered features aimed at making the app faster, smarter and more useful.

What’s new

  • AI Assistant — An in-app chatbot built in collaboration with OpenAI. Search, interact with notes, ask follow-ups, and generate content directly in Evernote. Bending Spoons plans to add tag-assignment and bulk actions later.
  • Semantic Search — Find notes by meaning and context rather than exact words (e.g., search “Barcelona trip” and find notes about Girona).
  • Enhanced Recording & Transcription — Record in-person and online meetings, auto-transcribe and summarize in supported languages.

Privacy & rollout

AI Assistant will be enabled by default for paid users with granular controls over what the assistant can access. Per Bending Spoons’ agreement with OpenAI, user data won’t be used to train OpenAI models and cloud-processed data is retained only long enough to complete requests. Free-user trials are planned in the coming months; paid pricing may be adjusted later.
