Raspberry Pi Imager 2.0 (Release Candidate) — what’s new
The Raspberry Pi Foundation has released Raspberry Pi Imager 2.0 as a release candidate. The desktop tool for writing Raspberry Pi operating systems to SD cards and other media (macOS, Windows, Linux) gets a visual and workflow overhaul.
What’s new in 2.0 (highlights)
- Revamped UI: A redesigned interface focused on clarity and accessibility — new visuals and font improvements.
- Step-by-step wizard: Moves from a three-button model to a guided wizard to simplify flashing.
- Telemetry: Adds optional anonymous telemetry (opt-out available).
- Customization: The “Customisation” step is now available only when flashing Raspberry Pi OS images.
- Cross-platform: Available for macOS, Windows and Linux.
