YouTube tightens Terms to target cheaper foreign Premium subscriptions Starting Sept 26, 2025, YouTube will enforce revised Terms of Service for YouTube Premium (including YouTube Music Premium and Premium Lite) that require subscription access to be used predominantly in the country where the user originally signed up. The update strengthens geo-location and subscription-use rules and creates the basis for YouTube to cancel or restrict subscriptions that appear to have been registered abroad to get lower rates.
