After 37 Years: Network Equipment Supplier AVM in New Hands
It has long been no secret that the founders of the Berlin-based network equipment supplier AVM have been working on developing a succession plan. Today, the FRITZ!Box manufacturer, founded in 1986 in Berlin, communicates its plans for the future of the company.
Imker Capital Partners Takes Over
The venture capitalist Imker Capital Partners has acquired the majority of AVM’s business shares. The founders will remain affiliated with the company as shareholders and advisors, but only with a minority stake.
Imker Capital Partners describes itself as an investor focusing on private and public investments with a primary interest in Europe. They have a flexible investment approach that allows them to invest in various industries.
„Increased Internationalization“
Johannes Nill, CEO and spokesperson of AVM management, emphasizes that the new investor plans to continue AVM’s previous success and shares the vision for AVM’s future. Imker’s commitment is a significant step in the company’s history and could enhance AVM’s ability to develop new solutions. AVM plans to grow through the introduction of new products and increased internationalization.
AVM is known in Europe as one of the leading manufacturers of products for broadband communication. Especially the products marketed under the FRITZ! brand have established themselves in the market over the past 37 years. In 2023, the company achieved a turnover of 580 million euros and now employs almost 900 people.
AVM itself does not speak of a takeover or sale in its external communication and emphasizes that the entry of Imker Capital Partners is a „generational change,“ following the AVM founders‘ desire to transition the company’s leadership in an orderly manner while ensuring long-term development.
